Acne & Acne Scar Management
ACNE TREATMENTS
1. Acne facial with PDT Light Therapy
Acne facial incorporates the use of blue photo light therapy which kills pimple- causing bacteria. Blue Light treatment is FDA-approved for the treatment of acne vulgaris. The blue light works by killing pimple-causing bacteria (Propionibacterium acnes). Each session lasts for 60 minutes and recommended treatment course is 1 session every 2 weeks.
Skin Benefits Of Blue PDT Light Therapy
Blue light therapy has a wavelength of between 405nm to 420nm and is predominately used for its anti-bacterial benefits and therefore used in acne treatment.
Blue light at wavelength of 415nm is absorbed by a molecule called porphyrin. P.acne bacteria contain an abundant amounts of porphyrin. The absorption of blue light by porphyrin creates singlet oxygen (free radicals) which are released into the bacteria, killing the bacteria.
Blue light is also anti-inflammatory. However for best results blue light is used in combination with red light therapy, for its additional skin rejuvenation and wound healing benefits.

Salipeel Plus (25% Salicylic with 15% Azelaic Acid Peel)
Salipeel Plus is a superficial peel. It combines the effectiveness of salicylic acid with that of azelaic acid. Recommended for acne-prone, oily skin, it helps tackle excessive oiliness and the resultant uneven skin tone and open pores. The azelaic acid in this peel effectively reduces the bacteria build-up and inflammation caused by acne. Azelaic and salicylic acids team up to refine skin quality – making skin look smoother, brighter, and more radiant.
How does Salipeel works?
This peel combines the efficacy of salicylic acid and azelaic acid.
When there are acne lesions, salicylic acid thins out the skin and causes it to peel off. This also results in unblocking pores where oil and dead skin are trapped, putting a stop to the creation of blemishes. It also peels off the scars from previous acne breakouts.
Azelaic acid enhances the effect of the salicylic acid. It kills the bacteria that block and infect pores. It also treats pimples and soothes the swelling caused by acne.
This peel also contains green tea extract which improves blood circulation, tones the veins and retards cell ageing.
What to expect?
For a few minutes after application of the peel there may be a whitish layer. But this inflammation settles immediately and the treatment has no downtime.
With a recommended 4-8 sessions administered with 15-day intervals, this treatment will balance skin oiliness, heal acne and lighten acne scars.
4. Acne Triple Therapy

5. Laser Brightening Facial
Our laser brightening facial is proven to reduce skin oiliness even after the 1st session. Less oil in the skin means less chances of getting pimples. It also shrinks the pores and lightens acne marks.
6. Carbon Laser Peel
A carbon laser peel is a revolutionary treatment that is completely painless with minimal-to-zero downtime. It is highly beneficial for people with oily skin, blackheads, enlarged pores, dull skin, and acne on the face or body. It is also an excellent way to exfoliate and refresh your skin, providing an instant refreshed appearance and leaving skin feeling softer, smoother and firmer.
Benefits of carbon laser peel:
Cleansing:
Carbon has the ability to absorb oil and contaminants from deep within the pores. When the laser is passed over the treatment area it targets and destroys the carbon particles, taking any absorbed material with it.
Exfoliating:
As the carbon is targeted by the laser, it blasts away dead skin cells, blackheads and effectively exfoliates the skin. The result is softer, radiant skin with reduced pore size and a more even skin tone.
Rejuvenating:
Carbon peels also target the deep layers of the skin to stimulate collagen production, which in turn produces firmer, plumper skin, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, and leaves skin feeling tighter and glowing.
Acne and Oil Destroying:
The heat produced by carbon peels has 2 additional benefits. It reduces the P.Acnes bacteria responsible for acne, allowing for better management of pimples and outbreaks, and it also shrinks sebaceous glands (oil producing glands), resulting in less oil production, and therefore reducing congestion building up in the pores. Treatments can be performed on any part of the body, including the back and chest.
As with all skin treatments, carbon peels should be supplemented by a good skin-care routine, and daily use of a high-spectrum sunscreen. Noticeable results can be experienced after a single treatment, but for maximum long-term results we recommend regular treatments.

1. Fractional RF
Fractional RF is a non-invasive treatment for acne scars, open pores, wrinkles and stretch marks. It uses fractional energy to deliver heat energy deep into the subcutaneous region. Compared to other traditional lasers, most of the fractional rf energy targets the dermis, thus causing less side effects on the epidermis. The number of treatment sessions will depend on the severity of the scars, but you can already see noticeable results in just 1-2 sessions.
2. TCA CROSS Technique
TCA CROSS (Chemical Reconstruction of Skin Scars) procedure involves depositing small amounts of high concentration TCA (70–100%) onto the surface of the acne scar. This causes a mild inflammatory reaction resulting in the formation of new collagen fibres.
Most patients require 3 to 6 treatments with TCA CROSS for optimum improvement. Treatments may be repeated at 2 to 8 week intervals over 6 months and may be combined with other treatment modalities for best results.
3. Subcision
💉 Treatment: Subcision
👩⚕️ Purpose: Subcision is a minor surgical procedure used for treating depressed cutaneous scars and wrinkles.
🔎 Procedure: Subcision is performed using a special needle or cannula inserted through a puncture in the skin surface. The sharp edge of the needle is used to break fibrotic strands that are tethering the scar to the underlying tissue. The release of the fibrotic strands and new collagen deposition caused by wound healing leads to cosmetic improvement of the scar.
🙋♀️ Patient selection: The decision to perform subcision will depend on the type, location, and severity of scarring; patient preference and expectations; and clinician experience and expectations.
Subcision may be used for the treatment of:
• Depressed distensile scars (due to acne, trauma, surgery )
• Depressed bound down scars (due to acne*, varicella(chickenpox), trauma, surgery )
• *excluding deep ice-pick scars
• Acne scars
Rolling scars
❌Subcision may not be suitable in the following circumstances:
• Patients with a history of hypertrophic or keloid scars
• Current or recent (within 12 months) high dose systemic oral retinoid (eg acitretin, isotretinoin)
• Bleeding or blood clotting disorders (coagulopathy)
• Active bacterial or viral infection
The risks and complications of subcision include:
1. Haematoma due to bleeding (a small haematoma is normal)
2. Pain/tenderness of treated site
3. Infection; this usually presents as localised acneform papule or pustule
4. Temporary post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation(advise sun protection/avoidance)
5. Sub-optimal response or lack of improvement in scarring
6. Injury to nerve or blood vessel, which is most likely in mandibular, temporal and pre-auricular sites

5. Punch Excision for Icepick & Deep Boxcar Scars
Punch excision is a minor surgical procedure wherein the scar is surgically removed using a medical grade "skin puncher". It's a painless procedure and results in permanent removal of the atrophic scar. It may result in a temporary linear or pigmented scar, which resolves in time. Usually, fractional rf is recommended after 2-4 weeks to further smoothen the skin.
6. PLATELET RICH PLASMA (PRP) Treatment (Vampire Facial)
PRP treatment or Vampire Facial is the hottest trend in acne scar treatment and skin rejuvenation. It was made popular by Kim Kardashian who underwent the treatment for skin rejuvenation. It involves extracting a small amount of blood from you, which is then spun down in a centrifuge to separate the plasma. This plasma now contains a higher than normal number of platelets and is called platelet rich plasma, or PRP.
Why Platelets Rejuvenate Skin
Platelets are the cells in the blood that help tissue to heal and grow new cells. The PRP, injected into specific areas of the skin, is like a fertilizer that promotes your own collagen to grow, regenerates tissue, and thus acts as to naturally smooth and tighten the skin. In this way, PRP softens wrinkles and creating smoother skin texture and tone.
7. Fillers
If you want immediate improvement in your acne scars, then this treatment is for you! We use hyaluronic acid (e.g. Restylane) or Calcium hydroxylapatite (Radiesse) Fillers for our acne scars patients, thus quality is assured. Fillers work best for patients with rolling type of acne scars. For patients with really deep scars, it is advisable to undergo few treatments of fractional rf with either subcision or tca cross to soften the scars. Fillers last from 6-12 months depending on the lifestyle and metabolism of the patient. Mild bruising and swelling are possible side effects so be sure to schedule your treatment.

9. NEW TREATMENT!!! RF Fractional Microneedling (RFM)
Introducing our newest acne scar treatment- the Radiofrequency Fractional Microneedling (RFM)
RFM delivers the desired energy through gold plated insulated needles that penetrate the skin to a predetermined desired depth. By delivering heat energy from RF to dermis, RFM encourages collagen growth and tissue tightening without harming the epidermis.
Indications:
Acne scars Acne treatment Oiliness Large pores Facial rejuvenation Skin laxity Stretchmarks Leg scars Rosacea
For acne scar treatment, RFM is best combined with PRP as the micro-channels created by the needles enhance penetration of the PRP deep into the skin and allows the additional platelets to contribute to skin healing . It's also best done together with other treatment modalities e.g. TCA CROSS and subcision for faster over-all improvement.
